Club Member Spotlight for December: Co-Founders Katrina Faris & Mariko Fischer
Katrina Faris – Club Echelon PresidentFirst Triathlon: September 2010 Scott Tinley Sprint Distance at Lake Lopez in Arroyo Grande, CA. Great weather, beautiful location and fantasic company as I completed the triathlon with my mom, dad and high school friend. Highly recommended!
Goals for 2014: Complete my first century, improve my Barb’s Race time to be around 6 hours, and survive the Gran Fondo King’s Ridge.
Day Job: Accountant at Moss Adams in Santa Rosa. Everyone else in my family is a tax accountant, but I am blazing a new trail as an auditor.
Mariko Fischer – Club Echelon TreasurerDream “destination” triathlon: Ironman 70.3 Auckland, New Zealand! Great excuse to travel over there, and an oceanfront run!
Training or racing Mantra: “Shuffling is faster than walking.” I seem to resort to mantras during the slower parts of the race…
Motivation (What gets you training? Keeps you training?): Muscle memory is forever, whether you like it or not your body will remember every crash, but it will also squirrel away every workout, so it all counts!
